Maria Virginia is a fluent English speaking Almerian local and official tour guide who fell in love with Andalusia from an early age. She has conducted tours for well known companies and TV host producer e.g. All the Best with Zita Keeley. Tour Operators Calypso Cruiceros and Andalusia Automonous Government amongst others. She now specialises in small and bespoke groups which she takes on routes that only tour guides with official permits are granted. She can take you to places you would not be allowed on your own! SCENTS OF ARABIA
Experience Arab culture, cuisine and baths in the heart of the old city below La Alcazaba. This walk explores Almería’s flourishing 10th–11th-century Muslim past, divided between the Alcazaba, with its gardens, palace and fortified walls and the Medina, the city’s original core with its maze-like streets and the former Great Mosque. We’ll also visit Cerro de San Cristóbal for panoramic views, Jayrán’s 10th-century wells and the Plaza Vieja, once the Muslim souk.
After the walk, enjoy a relaxing lunch featuring a blend of Moroccan and Andalusian flavors—cheese and honey rolls, skewers, bastila, couscous and pastries in a warm, magical setting.
Finally, unwind in the Arab Baths, where calming pools of varying temperatures, soft blue tones, scented oils and optional massages create a blissful experience—ending with a dip in the rooftop pool and a glass of cava.

Almería is well known as the land where the sun spends the Winter and no one feels like a stranger.
Roman, Muslims, Christian and Jewish cultures…welcome you with open arms. Almeria isa a reflection of the Mediterranean universe and the marks of its splendid past still live on in our streets, squares and sights, most notably our Alcazaba, the second largest Arab construction in Spain, our impressive Cathedral – fortress , the Saint John’s Church, the Medina, the Cable Ingles and the local market amongst others.

ALMERIA'S WONDERS
Travelling by the coast across the First Sea-Land Natural Park of volcanic origin Cabo de Gata in Andalusia, La Isleta, Cortijo el Fraile (which inspired the drama in verse by Federico Garcia Lorca entitled Bodas de Sangre) and, Nijar villages we will enjoy of the most genuine landscapes of the inland area and the mediterranean coast.
Learning about the different systems of irrigation, which are still in use, you will know how they were established and used for agriculture and milling.
Lunch at local restaurant in the coast/inland and back by the desert with several cultural/etnographical and panoramical stops.

RURAL & ARKEO ALMERIA
The human being has lived in the place where Almería is now since time inmemorial. If the province has been the birth of the most ancient cultures in Europe, with the birth of the Neolithic site in Los Millares (3000 BC) and El discovered, showing very early settlements too.
Our visit covers the villages of Gador, Santa Fe de Mondújar and Terque (here we will visit its amazing ethnographic museums) to the north, Padules . Crossed by the Andarax and Almanzora, these being the most important rivers in the area. Gador is a high inland village, with an average altitude of 173 metres at the foot of the Sierra de Gador.
It is of Arab origin, although the name dates back to Phoenician/Iberian times. The area has a wonderful landscape, with farming valleys full of orange groves.
